Taiwan-based firm Agile Display Solutions said it will launch a new color e-paper display at the ISE event slated to take place next week, the website Sixteen-Nine.net reported. The Forever Display, also identified by the product name EPD32-FD, uses Spectra 6 color e-paper display tech which allows for high contrast and color-rich displays. One unique aspect of the Forever Display is that it is solar-powered. Rather, it can run using even ambient lighting present in a retail setting, which explains its naming, Forever Display. Theoretically, it is designed to run forever, which means little to almost no maintenance required.

The display otherwise measures 32 inches and, as the company stated is the world’s first full-color digital signage solution that operates completely wirelessly. There is no need for any wires to be connected or to be plugged into any power source. This has been made possible with the use of Powerfoyle technology sourced from the Swedish company, Exeger. This enables the display to run for years with power generated from retail lighting.

“This product is not just a technological breakthrough; it demonstrates our commitment to sustainability and efficiency,” says J.B. Daines, Chief Commercial Officer of Agile Display Solutions. “The EPD32-FD Forever Display is poised to redefine how the world thinks about digital signage, combining innovation with environmental responsibility.”

With the use of Powerfoyle technology, Exeger said the display won’t need to be connected via electrical wires or cat 6 cables for its operation. This leads to direct savings of more than $1500 in the form of labor or material costs. Instead, power is going to be generated using Powerfoyle tech which comprises of thin and flexible strips capable of generating power from retail lighting. Another advantage of the Forever Display is its use of an open API system. This enables the display to be integrated with networks and management systems already in use.

Meanwhile, Agile stated it will also have a 75-inch color e-paper display to show off at the event, one that would be based on the Kaleido 3 technology.
