The AiPaper Mini has an 8.2-inch E Ink display and is now available on Amazon for $469. A $70 coupon is also available, lowering the price to slightly less than $400.
What makes the AiPaper Mini unique is its screen size, which is 8.2 inches. Its resolution is 1920 x 1440 pixels, translating to a 297 PPI pixel density. Viwoods said the AiPaper Mini comes with the E Ink Carta 1000 display, which is a bit of a downgrade considering that the Carta 1300 display tech happens to be the latest currently available.
Further, the note’s glass screen makes it inherently rigid and prone to cracking or breaking under impact. In contrast, the larger AiPaper e-note device, which has a 10-inch e-paper display, has a Mobius screen, which is flexible, given its plastic build. This makes it more resilient against external impact and less likely to crack or break.
Apart from the display type, the other aspect that distinguishes the AiPaper Mini from its larger cousin is the presence of the front light feature. This allows you to work with the Mini even in the dark, which is impossible with the AiPaper, which depends entirely on ambient light for the display to be visible.
Under the hood, the AiPaper Mini features a 2.0 GHz octa-core processor and 4 GB of memory. The 128 GB of storage onboard should be enough for all practical purposes. The e-note supports file encryption using a passcode or fingerprint, while the built-in VITransfer app ensures secure data transfers. The accompanying stylus allows for a very natural, paper-like writing feel.
The 2450 mAh battery keeps the lights on. The e-note runs Android 13 out of the box. The company recently announced Google Play Store integration, which means you can have any app you need. At 230 grams, it is also extremely light and handy.
