Several covers for the iPhone come with embedded E Ink displays. Soon we are going to have another from a company named Mateluxue which intends to launch a new iPhone case that will come with a 3.97-inch 480 x 800 resolution color E Ink display built into it. The case is slated for launch on the crowdfunding platform soon, the website ereaderpro.co.uk stated. The display offers 235 PPI pixel density and supports Black, Red, White, and Yellow colors.
Mateluxue stated the E In display on its case offers clear and sharp visuals, be it images or texts. Users will also have the ability to customize the display easily via the app that the case comes with. Among the things that users will be able to display via the E Ink screen include images, their to-do lists, motivational quotes, and so on. The options can be limitless with the e-paper display serving as a medium to convey your personality and individuality. The case supports NFC technology for communicating with the iPhone it is coupled with.
Apart from the E Ink display, the case also serves a few other functionalities as well. For instance, it offers external storage of up to 1 TB. The storage becomes available after you have connected the case to the phone via a magnetic cable. This can be handy for say creators who need to shoot videos or still images, The additional storage can be used for storing the videos or images.
Apart from this, the case also comes with a transparent cover for the camera and serves as a protective layer for the camera lenses. The metal stand of the cover can be opened and made to serve as a stand as well. This way, you can position the phone in an upright position for watching videos or during video calls. The case comes in a shade of white or black and is made from aluminum alloy as well as tempered glass, and TPU.
The new Mateluxue E-Ink iPhone case however is going to be compatible with only iPhone 14 to 16 having 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch displays. Though it is not yet available to buy, the case is expected to cost $66.99 when it goes on sale. The early bird crowdfunding price is going to be a bit lower at $40.
