Sharp Electronics has launched its Sharp EPC131 and EPC251 Advanced Colour Display Series in Canada, the website wifihifi reported. The 13-inch and 25-inch sized e-paper displays are designed to be the perfect digital alternative to paper or LCD/ LED displays used as public signs. The Sharp e-paper display can replace the traditional signs. It can be best suited for application in various scenarios, such as education, retail, advertising, public transportation, and the hospitality sector, to name a few.
Sharp e-paper displays have several advantages over traditional displays in that they require very little electricity for their operation. The power requirement is almost zero when displaying static images. It draws power only when the image changes, which is also negligible. The display, too, is glare-free and has excellent visibility even in bright light conditions. It is incredibly soothing to the eyes, and its wide viewing angles make it ideal for use as public signage. Apart from these, e-paper displays are also known to be cost-efficient and environmentally friendly in the long run.
“Our new EPC131 and EPC251 displays exemplify Sharp’s commitment to innovation and quality,” says Milenko Cepo, Director, Visual Solutions Sales, Sharp Electronics of Canada Ltd. “Sharp’s new ePaper provides a sustainable and quick alternative to traditional poster boards and printed posters. It effortlessly delivers content through selected Content Management System (CMS) partners or offers a user-friendly experience with the simplest content management options via USB, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth.”
The Sharp e-paper displays also boast a slim, lightweight build that is easy to carry or install. It can be placed on a flat surface or hung on the wall. Installation or subsequent operation is easy as they require minimum wiring and are Wi-Fi enabled. It can be fed with the content to be displayed via an app that the display comes with, making content management across even several displays connected in a grid straightforward and efficient.
