iReader has a new E Ink tablet to offer, which it has named the Smart 5 Pro, ITHome reported. The company claims that the new Smart 5 Pro impresses with its high-resolution e-paper display and boasts superior performance. The e-note is priced at 3099 yuan (USD 426) and is currently being pre-ordered via JingDong.

The Smart 5 Pro comes with a 10.3-inch E Ink Carta 1200 panel that offers a 75 percent increase in resolution compared to its predecessors. The display also benefits from ultra-high-transmittance ion-tempered glass. This has led to the bezels being really slim on three sides, achieving an impressive 84 percent screen-to-body ratio. The metal spine on the left is equally narrow and made of CNC technology. The ComfortLight Pro feature allows for 30-level brightness and temperature control for a comfortable viewing experience.

Under the hood lies an octa-core processor and an independent GPU, which works in conjugation with four gigs of memory and 128 GB of ROM. This has led to a speed boost for the e-note device so that apps launch 88 percent faster while book load times have improved by 47 percent. Comic transitions, too, have improved by 52 percent on the Smart 5 Pro, while PDFs are now 38 percent faster. Keeping the lights on is a 4000 mAh battery, which should last several days if not weeks. It weighs pretty handy at 396 grams and measures 226.4 x 183.9 x 6.6mm in dimension.

The e-note supports Wi-Fi 2.4G/5G and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity. It also has a Type-C port for wired connectivity and battery recharging. Sensors onboard include a gravity sensor and a hall sensor. Other features include an integrated mic and double speakers. The e-note runs the company’s SmartOS platform and can decipher almost all known e-books, audiobooks, image formats, and documents. It also supports the installation of third-party apps.

Apart from this, the e-note also comes with some advanced AI features. Those include the ability to create meeting minutes or a summary of notes. Plus, it can also perform audio-to-text conversion in real time. Another cool feature of the e-note is its support for global dark mode.
