The Kindle Scribe isn’t the only big-screen E Ink tablet that is on sale right now as Kobo too has announced a discount on its flagship device, the Kobo Elipsa 2E as part of a summer sale offer. The Elipsa 2E can now be bought for $350 which is $50 less than the regular price.

The Elipsa 2E happens to be the only full-scale E Ink tablet device that Kobo has to offer at the moment though a few Kobo e-readers support stylus operations. Interestingly, the Kobo Sage too is selling for a discount at the moment and allows note-taking using a stylus. The Kobo Sage right now is selling for $239 which is $30 off the regular price.

Of the two, the Elipsa 2E is the bigger one with a 10.3-inch E Ink Carta 1200 display having 227 PPI resolution. The ComfortLight PRO tech allows for automatic adjustment of the front lights to ensure a comfortable reading experience even if the ambient light dims down to a zero. You can custom select the brightness and color temperature to your preference. The Kobo Stylus 2 that the e-note comes bundled with will let you jot down your thoughts and ideas with perfect ease. It comes with 32 gigs of native storage which should be enough to host 24,000 e-books easily and weighs a convenient 390 grams. It supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless connectivity.

The Kobo Sage is a bit smaller in that it comes with an 8-inch E Ink display though it’s the same E Ink Carta 1200 panel that it comes with. The Sage is also designed to work with the Kobo Stylus though it has to be procured separately. You can make notes on e-books, PDFs, or the notebook that the e-reader comes pre-loaded with. It too comes with 32 gigs of storage and features a 1.8 GHz quad-core processor. The ComfortLight PRO tech onboard allows for brightness and color temperature controls to ensure an optimum reading experience irrespective of the ambient lighting conditions. It weighs 280 grams and supports a wide range of e-book and audiobook formats. Unlike the Elipsa 2E, the Kobo Sage is waterproof and comes with page turn buttons.
