Come October 2 and manga fans are going to be treated to a new manga from Udon Entertainment that will be the first of its Manga Biographies series, AnimeNewsNetwork reported. There is going to be Yuzuru Kuki’s Manga Biographies: Charles M. Schulz that spans 168 pages and has its cover illustration done by Chi-ko. The authorized biography was published by Kadokawa in Japan in 2019 and formed part of its manga biographies. Charles M. Schulz Creative Associates oversaw the editorial of the manga back then.
The biography covers the whole of Charles Schulz’s life, starting from his growing up years spent in Minnesota to the days when he was in the army There has also been the painter in him that too blossomed during that time, with cartoon being his chosen genre of art. No wonder, Schulz went on to be recognized as one of the most famous cartoonists of his time.
The manga lists out all the events of Schulz’s life in a manner that is as captivating as it is interesting, making it a gripping take to read. What is also unique with the biography is that it also refers to the historical events that panned out in the real world during the time and which also had an impact on Schulz’s life as well as the manner in which Peanuts reacted to those events.
Just in case you need a refresher, Schulz is the creator of the Peanuts comic series. It was first introduced way back in the 50s and continues to be relevant even today. Newspapers around the world still run the comic strip 24 years after Schulz’s death. What’s more, Snoopy Town Shops have turned out to be popular tourist destinations in Japan.
Meanwhile, for those who are eager, advance copies of the manga are going to be up for sale at the Peanuts booth at Comic-Con International: San Diego from July 25 through July 28.
