The South Korea-based e-book platform Yes24 has stated it will be accepting pre-orders for its latest e-reader device, the Crema Pebble, till September 2. After that, the e-book reader will see its official release on September 3. The company said the pebbles have inspired the Crema Pebble and are as soft and comfortable as the weather-beaten pebbles. The company said one of the critical aspects of the Pebble is its ergonomic design, including the curved rear panel. The company claims this makes it easier to hold in your hands. The 6-inch 300 PPI monochrome display offers an excellent viewing experience.
The Pebble is equally lightweight, too, weighing just 139 grams, which makes the Crema Pebble 51 grams lighter than its predecessor, the Crema Motif. This also makes the new Crema Pebble the lightest 6-inch entry-level e-reader currently available. Further, with a 1.8 GHz quad-core processor and four gigs of memory onboard, you have a markedly better performance on the Crema Pebble than the Motif, which comes with 3 GB RAM. The 32 GB of storage should be enough for all your content needs, and there is the option to add up to another 512 GB via microSD cards.
With an adjustable front light, you can always have the best reading pleasure, regardless of the surrounding lighting conditions. The e-reader also offers easy customization options to set the font, line spacing, and size to suit your preferences. It supports the Text-to-Speech feature, meaning any e-book can be transformed into an audiobook. Plus, there is support for Bluetooth 5.4, which lets you connect external speakers, headphones, or remote control devices. Besides, it supports Wi-Fi, while the USB-C port allows wired data connection and battery recharging.
On the software front, the Pebble runs Android 11 with access to the Google Play Store. This way, you can always have access to any app you need. It measures 153 x 107 x 6.9 mm in dimensions, making it compact enough to fit in your pocket. The 1800 mAh battery onboard should last a week or two, at least on a full charge. The Crema Pebble is priced at 219,000 won in South Korea, which translates to around $165.
