The Taiwan-based company HyRead has announced a new e-note device: the Gaze Pro XC, featuring a 10.3-inch Kaleido 3 colour e-paper display. The e-paper display comes with a capacitive touch panel and a Wacom layer with support for 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity. The bundled pen can be used for taking notes, sketching, or annotating right on the documents.

The Gaze Pro Note has a black-and-white resolution of 2480×1860 with 300 PPI. The Colour resolution is 240×930 with 150 PPI. The display also has a front light feature with controls for adjusting warm and cool colour temperatures.

Under the hood, the HyRead Gaze Pro XC features an octa-core processor with 6GB of memory and 128 GB of storage. Of this, about 106 GB is available to the user, though another 1TB of storage can be added via microSD card. The e-note supports Wi-Fi 6 (2.4GHz + 5GHz) and Bluetooth 5.2 for wireless connectivity. Keeping the lights on is a 4800 mAh battery, which should keep the device going for a week or two. Then, there is also the Type-C port for wired connectivity and battery charging.

The other feature of the Gaze Pro XC is a rear 8 MP camera, which can be used for scanning documents. Then, built-in speakers and dual mics are onboard, while the e-note sensors include a G-sensor and a fingerprint scanner. It runs Android 14 and allows the installation of third-party APK files and app stores, such as the Amazon App Store, Samsung Galaxy Store and many others. Otherwise, it can read almost all known e-book formats, such as EPUB, PDF, MOBI, DOC, DOCX, TXT, FB2, RTF, HTML/HTM, DJVU/DJV, and CBR. The e-note measures 222 x 184 x 8 mm and weighs 420 grams.

Coming to its availability, HyRead said orders for the Gaze Pro XC are being accepted via the company website though it isn’t expected to ship until December. As for its price, the Gaze Pro XC will set you back NT$18,799, which comes to around $588.00.
