Audible is beginning to roll out a beta test of the first AI-powered audiobook search feature, Maven, allowing customers to instantly search Audible’s unparalleled catalog. While in beta, the feature will reach half of U.S. customers across iOS and Android, and Audible is excited to improve the product based on their feedback.
This innovation in the audiobook category will make it easier for listeners to discover their next favourite listen. Using conversational language, listeners can make specific requests like “I’m looking for an uplifting fiction novel with a female protagonist” or “Show me fantasy audiobooks that I can complete on an 8-hour road trip” and get tailored recommendations.
“As the go-to destination for audiobook discovery, Audible is always innovating to make it easier for you to find your next favourite listen,” said Andy Tsao, Audible’s Chief Product and Analytics Officer. “With Maven, we’re introducing an AI-powered search feature to help listeners uncover hidden gems across our vast catalogue, even for their most specific requests. And this is just the beginning—we will continuously improve this feature to ensure our users always have the best possible book recommendations at their fingertips.”
Almost everyone is adopting AI in their apps, websites, and services. Most are just taking advantage of the AI trend since it’s topical. Audible is doing its best with this limited rollout since it will help with recommendations to find your next listen.
